About the Funds
Empirical Capital Partners, LP (the "Fund"), established in June 2000, is a private investment fund available exclusively to sophisticated investors who qualify as "accredited investors" as defined in Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933 and who meet the “qualified client” test of Rule 205-3 under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
Empirical Capital Secular Growth Fund, LP (the “Secular Growth Fund”), established in July 2021, is a complementary private investment vehicle available to qualified investors meeting the same accredited investor and qualified client standards described above. The Secular Growth Fund is managed with an even more concentrated approach than the legacy Fund, focusing primarily on a select group of high-growth companies, with a particular emphasis on technology driven businesses.
Investment Objective
The Funds seek to produce high absolute rates of return from actively managed, concentrated portfolios of common stocks in publicly traded equities. The investment objective is to generate substantial capital appreciation in a tax-efficient manner, with any current income considered incidental to the primary investment strategy. An investment in the Funds involves significant risk, including the possible loss of principal. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
Management
Empirical Capital Holdings, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, serves as the General Partner of Empirical Capital Partners, LP. Empirical Capital Holdings II, LLC, also a Delaware limited liability company, serves as the General Partner of the Secular Growth Fund. Each General Partner has retained its affiliated company, Empirical Capital Management, LLC (the “Investment Manager”), to implement the respective Fund's investment approach. The General Partners and Investment Manager were organized in March 2000.
Cristan K. Blackman, who owns a controlling interest in the Investment Manager and the General Partners, has sole responsibility for the management of each Fund's investment portfolio. Mr. Blackman has invested a substantial portion of his liquid net worth in the Funds, underscoring his alignment with investors.
